A new sign for Animas Elementary

RAM Signs brought twenty-three local businesses together to give Animas Elementary a new sign. M&R was one of them, and donated all of the electrical work to power it.

Animas Elementary, on North Hutton Avenue in Farmington, needed a new sign — the kind a school uses to tell families what is happening that week. It is not the sort of thing a school budget stretches to easily.

RAM Signs put the whole thing together. The sign shop on San Juan Boulevard went out and found the partners — twenty-three local businesses in the end, M&R among them — and between them they raised more than $38,000. RAM designed the sign, built it, and brought their own crane out to set it.

M&R donated the electrical work in full — every hour of it. Our electricians were on site with the RAM crew on installation day, and the sign was wired, powered and signed off the same day it went in.

Who did what

Three things had to happen

A sign like this is not one donation. It is money, manufacture and power, and none of the three works without the other two.

RAM Signs ran it

The Farmington sign shop that organized the whole project — found the partners, designed and built the sign, and set it with their own crane. They have been doing this in the Four Corners since 1990.

23 local businesses funded it

The businesses RAM brought together, M&R among them, raising over $38,000 between them.

M&R powered it

Donated 100% of the electrical work the sign needed, and put electricians on site through the install so it was wired, powered and signed off the same day.

Why a sign matters

A school sign is how a school talks to the street — picture day, parent evenings, early release, the things families need to know and would otherwise miss.

RAM Signs decided that was worth organizing, twenty-three businesses decided it was worth $38,000, and it says something about Farmington that they did.
