The Corndog Classic
Lifts For Gifts is now the Corndog Classic — a sanctioned strongman competition and New Mexico state record event, raising money for the Boys & Girls Club.
The event started as Lifts For Gifts, a small sponsored lifting competition that raised money for the Boys & Girls Club through entry fees and sponsorship. It outgrew the name.
It now runs as the Corndog Classic: a sanctioned strongman competition where New Mexico state records can be set, drawing competitors from well outside the Four Corners while still funding the same local cause it always has.
M&R sponsors it, our crews work it, and every dollar raised through sponsorship and entries goes to the Club.

Three ways to take part
- Compete — the event is sanctioned, and state records are on the table
- Sponsor — sponsorship money goes directly to the Boys & Girls Club
- Turn up — spectating is free and the Club takes the concessions
Dates, venue and registration change year to year. Call either M&R office for this year’s details, or follow the company on Facebook and Instagram where the event is announced first.
